How the handset estimate works:

airtime or SIM value from your monthly
contract payments. Any upfront handset
payment is then added to the estimated
device cost.
How to compare a phone contract
A mobile phone contract can combine the
cost of a handset with calls, texts and
mobile data.
To estimate how much you are effectively
paying for the
phone itself,
enter the monthly contract price and an
approximate value for an equivalent
SIM-only or airtime plan.
For example, if a contract costs
£45 per month
and similar airtime would cost
£10 per month,
approximately £35 of each monthly payment
can be treated as the estimated handset
portion.
